May 11 Striper Report

Big seas greeted us this morning and getting out of the inlet was pretty hairy. The fish didn’t mind the 6 foot rollers one bit though and we were into big Stripers immediately. We had our limit within one hour but we kept fishing for the fun of it. A boat crashed and sunk on the south jetty of Manasquan Inlet and the Coast Guard had it closed down for a couple of hours after the rescue. It was a 67 foot Commercial Scallop boat and the crew was rescued with the crew unharmed. The bad news is that it leaked about 3,000 gallons of fuel into the ocean. Fishing is red hot right now, lots of bait in the water and Mr. Bluefish made his presence felt in a big way too today.
